Design and Development

Far from the cookie-cutter, industrial design of most adult living communities, Riverwalk Residences of Las Olas by has been designed by Cohen Freedman Encinosa & Associates Architects, enhanced by common area spaces, balconies, and varied materiality. The ground floor invites pedestrians to relax in a leafy green area or explore the indoor/outdoor plaza. At the tower level, residents will find a sky garden designed for relaxation.

The proposed building is planned to feature a contemporary architectural style, enhanced by transparent glass and balconies and a ground floor greenspace plaza that visually connects to downtown Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk.

Riverwalk Residences of Las Olas is a planned project of Ocean Land Investments, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale and recognized for its luxury residential developments throughout South Florida.  With more than 40 years of development expertise, Roy’s roots lie in senior living, having developed one of Canada’s largest portfolios of adult communities before relocating to South Florida.  He was the entrepreneur behind the rise of Carex Services, LLC, a luxury adult-care developer and operator.  The company owned and developed more than 2,000 luxury units, affording residents the option of independent living, assisted living or skilled nursing.

Notes Roy, “Riverwalk Residences rally against stereotypical adult living facilities.  They will combine an active, waterfront lifestyle with the best of city living in an enviable location.”  Similar communities already exist in downtown Chicago, Seattle and Dallas, where they are extremely popular.

Today, Ocean Land Investments is revitalizing waterfront property in the East Las Olas Isles of Fort Lauderdale with the development of luxury condominium projects. Situated on Hendricks Isle and Isle of Venice just off of Las Olas Boulevard, the contemporary developments introduce modern architecture and upscale amenities to complement the isles’ natural beauty and waterfront lifestyle. Low-rise condominium tower AquaVita opened in 2015, AquaLuna was completed in 2016, and AquaMar was completed in 2017. Additional projects, AquaBlu and AquaVue are presently under construction.
